those in gill, eye, heart, intestine, and muscle. However,
RSIV DNA detection frequency in brain of fingerling
rock bream was higher than that in brain of 1-yr-old rock
bream.
3.2. Activation of RSIV
In fingerling rock bream, progressively accumulating
mortalities were observed from 13d post-temperature
elevation, and the cumulative mortality during
experimental period (21d) was 70%. RSIV DNA was
detected by primary PCR in dead fingerling (Fig. 2).
No mortality was recorded in the control fingerling
rock bream, which were kept at 18°C.
In contrast to fingerling, in yearling rock bream,
RSIV DNA was not detected by primary PCR and nomortality was recorded during the experimental period
of temperature elevation
