Does a badly adjusted pH value in the damping fluid have any influence on the rubber rollers?
It is well known that in Europe printers prefer to print with light acid pH-values in the damping fluid,
i. e. in the range form 4,8 to approx. 5,5. A too highly adjusted pH-value causes problems for the coating on the printing plate.
A too low adjusted pH-value causes problems for many machine components,
ink build-up on the printing blanket, blinding of the printing plate, insufficient drying and corrosion problems in the printing machine.
Damage to printing rollers due to strong roller glazing is also possible.
If the pH value is set too low, blinding of printing rollers will occur.
