3.2 Structural changes to macrofauna communities
This study collected 60 species of macrofauna (Table 2) belonging
to five major groups: polychaetes, gastropods, crustaceans,
bivalves, and others. They were divided into four groups
according to their life forms. These were: infaunal, burrowing
fauna, adhering fauna, and swimming fauna. Over the entire
succession process, there were fewer species changes in the
control plots, but considerably more in the succession plots.
