RESULTS
Using data from a weather station in close proximity to Borderview Farm in Alburgh, VT, weather data is
summarized in Table 2. The 2011 growing season was wetter than normal, with very heavy precipitation
in the spring and late summer. However, the months of June and July were close to average in overall
rainfall, and temperatures were near normal. There were an accumulated 2,998 Growing Degree Days
(GDDs) at a base temperature of 44°F; this was 238 more than the 30-year average.
