Despite the fact that activated carbon has the best retention volumes, its use causes difficulties in thermal desorption of VOCs with boiling points above 70 °С [1].
For VOCs with boiling points in the range from 30 to 200 °С, which make up more than 90% of air pollutants, more attractive in terms of sorption preconcentration
are hydrophobic polymeric sorbents with high surface area.
Therefore, for sorption preconcentration we used porapak QS, modified by 20% dehydrated CoCl2.
