In the first step of treatment,higher removal efficiencies were
obtained in terms of COD,total hardness and sulphate.Colorand
Suspended solids were completely rejected using FMNP010 membrane at optimum conditions. However,the removal efficiency of
FM NP010 membrane was poor for chloride and conductivity(53%
and 58%).The composite permeate obtained from FMNP010 was
treated at 12,20,28 and 36 bar to provide better permeate quality
like actual process water using FMNP030 membrane in the second
step of treatment. It was obtained much better permeate quality
than the actual process waterat 28 bar. Flux decline due to the
fouling wastheaverageof11%,whichindicatesthatfoulingwas
not very severe for FMNP030 membrane. However, SEM analysis
showed that partially plugging occurred in the pores of FMNP030
membrane.
