Two
nonmolted treatment groups that contained 24 hens
each from the Hy-Line W-36 (HW) and Bovans White
(BovW) strains and 2 treatment groups from the Hy-
Line Brown (HB) and Bovans Brown (BB) were randomly
selected from nonmolted treatments (Table 1).
To examine the impact of molting on egg nutrient composition,
2 molted treatment groups that contained 24
hens each from the HW and BovW strains were also
selected. All of the hens in the 12 groups were housed
at 64 in2 per hen at 6 hens per cage with a total of 288
hens.
