NAKHON SAWAN – A tobacco wholesaler is offering a 100,000-baht reward for clues leading to the arrest of two thieves who stole around eight thousand packs of cigarettes.
Phatara Thanapat, owner of Thai Pattana Partnership, a wholesaler of products from Thailand Tobacco Monopoly in tambon Pak Nam Pho of Muang district, said Friday morning that burglary took place about 3am Jan 28. Two men were caught on security cameras breaking into the shop's back door and taking 16 boxes of Thai and foreign-branded smokes worth around 300,000 bahtThe robbers also took 40,000 baht of cash from the shop.
The two men fully covered their faces with hats and bandanas. They cased the company then used a stick to turn the camera away before breaking in. The goods were loaded on to a black pickup truck. The burglary took about 30 minutes.
Mr Phatara said police had not yet arrested the burglars, so he dared not to leave the house at night as he was afraid they might return. He said he learned the same pair is suspected in a burglary of a store selling farm machinery the same night. The owner is offering the reward to any person who can provide information leading to the burglars' arrest. (207 words)
