Dear Jame and Gam,
Thank you very much for agreeing to help me as class head(s). Two heads are better than one. ;-)
I have attached the MS Word document for students to use.
They should:
1. Fill out the information.
2. Take a full-face photo.
Have a friend help to take a FULL face photo. The friend should hold the camera or phone close to the face and take a "close up" picture. It is important that the face be bright (well-lit), full and in focus so I can use it in my seating chart. Good participation points for good photos, etc.
3. Record a sound file with student number and name and nickname (I added name because it will help):
"My student number is ....."
"My name is ..."
"My nickname is ..."
Many phones can make this recording. So can MP3 recorders, etc., or computers with a microphone. Save the file as an mp3 with student number (last for digits) and nickname.
4. When the info sheet and photo and sound file are ready, put them together.
After testing, I've decided that the best way to add the photo and mp3 is to simply "drag" them into the document.
After dragging the photo into the Word docx you can move it around - after making one change.
Right-click on the photo, select "Text Wrapping" and then "Through". See the jpg attachment.
After this you can easily move the photo to the top-right corner of the document.
It is easier to add the mp3.
Just drag into the document and put it between the "year" and "Course name & number" lines.
After I get the files, it will be easy for me to copy the photo and the sound files from the document.
I hope these are instructions are clear. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you and the class can finish this by Friday or Saturday morning so I can start preparing the seating chart with photos.
This is probably the hardest part of helping as class heads. There is not too much to do after this other than to help me communicate with the class. I hope you can both divide the work to make it easier. ;-)
Thanks,
Aj. Lars
