Fig. 4 illustrates the Ki-values of palm fatty acid distillate components
computed on a solvent-free basis at 333K. The results show
that palmitic acid and squalene are enriched in the extract while
oleic and linoleic acids are enriched in the raffinate. The Ki values of
palm fatty acid distillate compounds increase in the following order
Ksqualene > KC16 > KC18.1 > KC18.2. This is due to the different solubilities
of the pure components in supercritical carbon dioxide.
