A group that has staged huge political demonstrations last year has threatened to hold another rally in November to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak, who has been linked to the looting of billions of dollars from 1Malaysia Development Bhd, the state investment fund he chairs. Mr Najib and senior officials of his ruling United Malays National Organisation have been holding meetings in recent weeks to exhort members to get out and meet potential voters. That has given rise to speculation that an election could be called before the due date of mid-2018, possibly as soon as March next year.
