TNonetheless, to effectively facilitate the aforementioned project idea, it is important to undertake area and social assessment to understand and assess the objective realities on the ground to include, but not limited to, the socio-economic situation of the farm households including ethnic minority households and the prevailing production and marketing systems, and establish a credible database of farm households and target communities for informed decision making purposes. Furthermore, the analysis would assist to determine the interests, demands and expectations of the stakeholders on the proposed new production system and to consult them on their views and specific inputs on the possible new production approach that would have the greatest impact and suitable combination to ensure acceptance of the technology and the proposed new production arrangements and processes. In addition, the analysis would assess the ability of affected stakeholders to participate in the program, identify any potential for exclusion or negative impacts, and acknowledge their concerns and interests on the proposed new production system, and ensure these are taken into account in the design and implementation of the project. This analysis requires full participation of the stakeholders. Therefore, the consultant engaged in this activity is required to critically analyze the area, the stakeholders and the existing production system, and identify a suitable pathways to reorganize and develop the project area.
