substrate. The highest yield (350.2 gr) was obtained by
waste paper amended with 20% rice husk. This result is
consistent with Khan and Garchas findings (1984). The
lowest yields were 61.4 and 90.2 gr respectively for waste
paper supplemented with chicken manure at 80:20 in
weight and waste paper supplemented with chicken
manure as 90:10 in weight. Thus; addition of chicken
manure to the substrate significantly decreased mushroom
yield probably because of its high nitrogen content
(Laborde et al., 1984). Out of seven substrates evaluated
for cultivation of oyster mushroom, waste paper mixed
with rice husk resulted in maximum yields.
