For six years, Times Higher Education magazine published its annual World University Rankings with data from a company called QS (known as the THE-QS rankings). In September 2010, Times Higher Education published an entirely new set of rankings, based on a new and improved methodology, and with all data supplied by one of the world's leading information companies, Thomson Rueters. The new tables were the result of ten months of open consultation with the academic and student community, and involved the detailed engagement of more than 50 leading figures from around the world.
