Until the blood streaked down her temples, her lips, or her cheeks, she would not yield. Until her last breath was expelled from her lungs, she would not stop. Until her eyes over-flowed with so many salty, hot tears she grew blinded, she would not hold back. [Name] wouldn't give up so easily.
It didn't matter that she only had one leg now, she could still carry on like any other soldier - why couldn't anyone else see that?
Her bones grew restless, trashing about underneath sickly white hospital sheets, her eyes burned a hole through the window that shown to the outside of her room. She needed to be out "there", not stuck in "here". Her throat burned, her toes creaked, she could feel the ones that were lost on her left side give a ghostly twitch, as well.
[Name] was a soldier, goddammit! She had to be out doing her job!
She sat up, the bandages over her chest burning against her hot skin, through her good eye she caught someone sitting at the chair beside her bed - blue eyes found hers and a frown creased their lips south.
"You should be laying down and resting."
Annie says, arms crossed over her chest with one leg over the other.
"I'll rest when I'm dead."
[Name] spat back, throwing her covers from off of her legs - well, one of them - and swinging them over the side of the bed. Though, she is still not use to having just one leg, the stubborn [h/c]-haired woman stumbles but is quick to stand. The blonde girl shot to her feet to try and stabilize her, her hands on her forearms.
There was something Annie admired about [Name]; whether it be the fact that she was fighting on like a true warrior should, or that she was gutsy enough to try and survive a Titan attack like she did with only barely making it away with her life, let alone almost half of her sight and just one leg.
Annie didn't laugh, though she was fighting the urge to, but instead helped [Name] sit back down on her mattress.
"Just sit for now; even a warrior needs to know when it's appropriate to take a break."
She would know.
