Similar to the rapeseed oil is the oil from the African plant Jatropha Curcas. Jatropha Curcas has the advantage that it is grown on agriculturally unsuitable soils, meaning it produces little or no carbon deficiency of the soil and thus provides an immediate advantage. The biodiesel made from Jatropha Curcas is very close to the biodiesel satisfying the ČSN EN 14214 standard. Properties of the oil, particularly its quality and density, are important for production of the biodiesel (Table 1). Generally, it is necessary to reach small oil contamination, low acid number, low levels of phosphorus, water and ash particles and to increase its oxidative stability.
