Were you billed for services you did not order? This is called cramming. If you believe you have been billed for phone services you did not order – either by your phone company or by a third party, please:
Contact your phone company right away to dispute the charges.
If you are not able to resolve the problem by working with the phone company, call us at the CPUC at 1-800-649-7570.
For more information, please see the Cramming page on the CalPhoneInfo website.
Were you switched from one phone company to another without your approval? This is called slamming. The charges from the new company may show up on your local phone bill, or you may get a separate bill from the new company. If you believe you have been slammed, please:
Contact your local phone company or your preferred long distance company to report the slam. Be sure they will not charge you any fees for “switching back.”
If you are not able to resolve the problem by working with the phone company, call us at the CPUC at 1-800-649-7570.
For more information, please see the Slamming page on the CalPhoneInfo website.
