Thirty-two rams of Polish Merino breed weighing
an average of 25 kg (SE+08 kg) were randomly
allocated to four groups of eight animals each. Animals
were fed one of four isonitrogenous (approximately
15.5% crude protein (CP) kg-’ dry matter (DM))
and isoenergetic (approximately 11.2 MJ metabolisable
energy (ME) kg- ’ DM) rations in which BM, FM,
SBM and C, respectively, were the main sources of
protein. Diet composition and nutritive values have
been reported (Urbaniak, 1995).
