after three days of treatment which was subpatent after 5 days of
treatment. Mice treated with the AR-equivalent in the tea had the
same parasitaemia pattern as those in the control group up to the
4th day of treatment. After that the parasitaemia decreased and
the mice died later due to recrudescence. The A. annua tea group
had a reduced parasitaemia after the 2nd day of treatment but
this increased up to the 5th day in a pattern similar to the control
group. The parasitaemia slightly decreased after this and the mice
later died of recrudescent infection. Only one mouse survived in
this group. A survival curve was not plotted because the objective
of our study was to study the decrease in parasitaemia in the
mice.
