To all Maxim email users:
New Spam & Phishing scams seem to appear every day. Maxim works to keep up with them but Cybercriminals are good at luring people in and getting you to click on a link or open an attachment. The message will look legitimate and will say it comes from a financial institution, payroll company or any other service or business. Spam & Phishing scams will often urge you to act quickly by tricking you to take immediate action.
If you are unsure whether an email is safe, do not open the attachment or click on the link. In Outlook, mark the email as spam and then simply delete the e-mail message.
If you have responded to a phishing scam, minimize any damage and protect your identity by changing passwords on all your accounts that you think might be compromised. You should also contact Maxim’s IT Helpdesk or the company listed in the e-mail directly, but do not contact the company with the information provided in the email.
