With the exception of the number of times and the time spent chewing the salty rope, and
the preference for interacting with the salty rope, the behaviours observed in the tail-chew
test on day 1 had low, but significant positive rank correlations with those observed on
day 2 (Table 4). For example, the ranking based on the number of times behaviour was
directed at the rope and the ranking for time spent directing behaviour at the rope on day 1
of the tail-chew test were positively correlated with that observed on day 2 (rs = 0.35 and
rs = 0.38, P < 0.01).
