I, along with my parents and younger brother, was living
a very happy life in a small town. My father was only
earning member and my mother looked after all of us. My
mother got married when she was only 17years with the
hidden wish to become the nurse.
My formal educational journey started in 1980 AD, at
the age of 6 from a rural primary school. I wondered with
the changing seasons that brought different colors
around my small world. Though, I can’t say exactly how
serving for human concept developed in my mind in the
beginning, I suppose that my first nursing concept began
from conversation between my mother and my next door
neighbor. As my mother told her that she wanted to be a
nurse to serve the health problems of the people. She
could not because of early marriage with my father.
When I was around eight years old, I suffered from
typhoid fever and got admitted in a mission hospital
where I saw nurses wearing white sari. They came to me
and other patients holding patient files to care us. Their
dress-up and behavior was the source of inspiration for
me to select nursing as a profession.
