An overview of how to identify PID and the types of bacteria that can cause it is provided. The article provides an understanding of the process required to make a diagnosis of PID, and highlights other conditions that may cause similar symptoms. The pharmacological options in treating non-complex mild to moderate presentations of PID are covered.
