We used generalized linear models with poisson distributions
and log link functions to examine the effects of
treatment (Metarhizium or control), silk presence and colony
on the numbers of cadavers which sporulated with
Metarhizium or Aspergillus, and on the total amount of
grooming observed. The survival of ants over the 14-day
observation period, and the grooming of ants over the
60-min observation period, contained repeated measures
and were thus analysed using generalized estimating equations
with time modelled as a within-subjects variable. The
minimum adequate models were obtained in all cases. All
analyses were carried out in SPSS 15.0.
