It is imperative for your child to know that everybody has flaws and shortcomings. Simply put, nobody is perfect! Discuss with them your own weaknesses. You could tell them of subjects that you have never been fond of or skills that you have always found tougher to master. Make it a two-way conversation, inviting them to share their thoughts about what they perceive as their own strengths and weaknesses. If your child lets you in on their insecurities, it can help give you insights into what it's like for them and can aid you in helping your child do better in school and beyond.
Tel your child about their learning differences using accurate terminology
