shrimp continues to be the most important commodity traded in value terms, accounting
for about 15 percent of the total value of internationally traded fish products in 2012. The other main groups of exported species were salmon and trouts with more than 14 percent,followed by ground fish(9 percent, e.g. hake, cod, haddock and Alaska pollock) and tuna (8 percent). In 2012, fish meal represented around 3 percent of the value of exports and fish oil 1 percent.
