The SEM micrographs of OTAB and CMTAB are presented in Fig. 2. It can be seen that the pore structure of the biomass is
not destroyed after chemical modification, and both of the pores of OTAB and CMTAB can be classified into macropore. The specific surface areas (BET surface) of OTAB and CMTAB are 0.778 and 1.092 m2 g−1, respectively. More details about the surface structures of OTAB and CMTAB are presented in supporting information (Table S1 and Fig. S1).
