I am a high school student who, despite engaging extracurricular activities and hobbies, is able to achieve academic excellence with the GPA of 4.00, the highest in my school.
I participated in Chemistry Olympiad camp (POSN) and was awarded High Distinction in Australian National Chemistry Quiz by the Royal Australian Institute in 2012 and 2013.
I was also the head of the school’s volunteer program for under-advantaged students.
I took part in a cultural exchange program in New Zealand in 2010 and the Southeast Asia Youth Leadership program in the United States in 2013.
I have been accepted by the Hong Kong University academy for the talented.
All these experiences help enhance my English skills and make me understand and appreciate diversity, creativity and adaptation.
I am very eager to learn other cultures and have been studying several languages. As a result, I am able to speak some Japanese and Chinese, but I am more at home speaking English.
By attending the ----, I expect to observe and learn more about Japan’s cutting-edge technologies and further my education in math and science as well as expand my global perspective to become a more mature, refined, and compassionate person.
I would also like to to have the opportunity to interact, experience and exchange knowledge in science and Thai culture with students of other nationalities.
Having studied Japanese language and some of its culture in Thailand, I think I fall in love with Japan and this is the main reason that I would like to study in this culture-rich country.
If I am accepted into the program, I will certainly share my experiences I gain with my friends and teachers and that this, in a small way, will help foster the two countries' long standing friendship to be even more friendly.
