and separation processes that are required to obtain single
compounds from natural plants require a number of complicated
steps. Furthermore, their purification yield is often too low for
use in commercial products. Therefore, researchers have begun
to examine the potential of using crude and/or concentrates from
serial fractionation with several solvents for cosmetic and medicinal
applications rather than using purified single components from
plant sources.
