If team members do not start out reporting their data on time, the odds are that they will continue to be late for as long as they can get away with it. To handle this problem, go immediately to these students and ask for the data. Remind them that they agreed to provide these data and they have not. If they agree to provide the data, get a specific time. If they do not meet these commitments, go to the team leader for help and tell the instructor about the problem. If you do not go promptly to the team leader and the instructor, you will become part of the problem.
Every week before the team meeting, obtain the prior week's data from all the team members. Then record these data on the project's TASK and SCHEDULE forms. With the TSPi support systems, engineers can record their time and defect data on their personal support system and turn turn these data in to you in electronic form. With these data, you can generate the composite team status and forms without entering any new data. Thus, if you have the TSPi support tool and if all the engineers use it properly, you can quickly generate everything that you need for the team's weekly status report.
