When
compared to the fluidized bed dryer (control-2), the drying times
were 92 and 61% more for the impingement dryer and 64 and 46%
more for the modified impingement dryer at 85 C and 107 C,
respectively. MacGregor (2005) reported that air velocity, air
temperature and berry diameter significantly effected IQF frozen
wild blueberries, and that drying occurs solely in the falling rate
period.
