The inside walls of the nose are lined
with a soft, wet Skinlike layer of mucous
membrane. The membrane is covered with
tiny hairlike parts. These tiny hairlike parts
help clean the air we breathe. They keep
dust and other things from reaching our
lungs.
High up in the nose are nerve endings.
When we smell something. these nerves
carry messages to The brain then
tells us what we are smelling.
