Participation in Mangrove Management
About 77% of respondents participated in activities related to
mangrove management (e.g. mangrove planting, training,
meeting, and seminar), mostly once a year (32%) or once every
six months (23%) (Figure 5).
The ordinal regression identified an increase in participation
for respondents with training relating to mangrove forests
(TRA). Informal interviews indicated various training activities
related to mangrove management were conducted in the
study areas (e.g. mangrove ecosystem services, mangrove
planning, and mangrove conservation). On the basis of the
questionnaire results, these training programs were able to
influence people’s participation in activities related to mangrove
management. This finding implies that the training
