The optimum operating temperatures and the optimum sizes of system components are calculated at which
minimum life cycle cost occurs for the heat pump driven
milk pasteurizing system. The validity of the optimization formulation is checked. The optimal conditions
may be attained if the correct sizing of the system may
be done. Heat pump systems used for dairies must be
designed close to this optimum point. The present formulas may seem to be helpful for designers and manufacturers of these types of systems.
