The results presented in Table 4-4 illustrate that as students advanced in the
engineering curriculum from first-year, ENGR 106 students to second-year
students in CHE 205, they became significantly more confident in achieving
academic success in their engineering courses (p = 0.000 and p = 0.039 for
men and women respectively). These results also indicate men become
increasingly confident in their abilities to achieve future engineering milestones
(p = 0.040) while women’s EM-E remains constant as they advance through the
first two years of the engineering program.
