2. Materials and methods
2.1. Preparation of anti-YHV and anti-CBV
antibodies
Polyclonal antibodies against YHV and CBV
were prepared in New Zealand white rabbits (7–8
lb) using purified virus as antigen. Immunoglobulin
Gwas purified from the antisera using recombinant
bacterial protein-G columns (Gamma-Bind™). In
order to remove antibodies that cross-react with
normal shrimp antigens, the IgG was adsorbed
onto acetone-dried, ground shrimp muscle tissue as
well as shrimp hemolymph proteins immobilized on
columns.
