It is important to note that our interface is just one possible way to interact with the collected data. Once the information has been harvested from the web and saved into the local data repository, it is under the complete control of the end-user. Technically-inclined users can develop their own custom interfaces on top of this data repository in order to meet their specific needs and requirements. Choosing a web-based application instead of a stand-alone desktop application has the advantage that users who are already experienced in web browsing and interacting with web applications will have a familiar and intuitive environment. Also, the web interface opens up the possibility to provide access to the data repository from remote locations. Further, it offers the potential for collaborative editing or group-based repositories.
