I would like to share with you a decision I have made. After 10 years in the role of CFO at Aurecon, I have decided to step down from the position and allow someone else to take up the challenge. I have devoted a great deal of time to the job and loved doing it, but I have come to the realisation that I am also a little tired and would like a change of pace.
I recently sat down with Giam to discuss this and we worked out together what could be a new role that optimised my skills and experience. I should also offer my apologies to Giam here, as I think I caught him by surprise with my request. While I am keen to change the pace of my role, I am equally keen to stay with Aurecon.
I am helping Giam with the search for a new CFO and I am sure he will let you know when we find and secure the best candidate. I will remain in the role until our new team member can start.
My new role, will focus primarily on ‘Owner Interests’. I have agreed with Giam that this will be a part time role and will include things like our annual Equity and Remuneration process and further investigation of affordable financing options. In addition to those areas, I will also continue to contribute to group projects that help us unify Aurecon, standardise processes and reduce waste. As this is a less senior role I will sell down some of my shares next year to reflect this but intend to remain an enthusiastic and committed owner.
The last 10 years has been a rewarding time for me which I have enjoyed tremendously. Work is not much fun without interesting colleagues and I have worked some of the best and friendliest at Aurecon over my time.
Thank you so much to so many of you who helped me and Aurecon succeed over that time.
My best wishes to all. Looking forward to 2016.
