Task Analysis:
1. Place the three measuring cups before the student and show the labels as well as discuss the different sizes. Ask the student to point to the different cups based on their name ( 1/4 cup, ½ cup, and 1 cup). If difficulty is encountered, label the cups with stickers or some other marking to make them easier to differentiate.
2. Have the student go to the faucet (see prerequisite ADT 17) and place water in each cup. Practice moving the cups from the sink to the bowl in a way that causes minimal spillage.
3. Continue Step 2, adding pouring each measuring cup of water into the three separate bowls.
4. Continue until the objective is met.
5. Once the objective has been met, work with the student in making something such as brownies to demonstrate this skill's practical use.
