In Mosuo society, the adult children, men and women, live in their mother's home even after they have found a partner; "walking marriages" make for a lot of coming and going in the evening. Most nights, Dashi's older brother walks across the village to visit his partner and children;he returns home for breakfast. Pizuchuma's partner, who also lives in the same village arrives at the Tseta house in the evening and leaves in the morning. Dashi, with twelve miles to travel, has more of a "bicycle marriage" and only gets to see his partner and nee baby about twice a month.
