General manager of the Russian Volleyball Federation, Vladislav Fadeev said that outside hitter of the national team Tatiana Kosheleva will not play in the Final round of World Grand Prix due to back problems. The final round of the tournament will be held during 6-10 July in Bangkok. Russia team in the group stage will play with the teams Brazil and Thailand.
“Before the Final of World Grand Prix, we have suffered a serious loss-Tatiana Kosheleva who has returned to Moscow due to back problems. Her rehabilitation will be handled by the specialists. Assessing the chance of her participation in the Olympic Games is too soon to make. We need to first help Tanya to recover. Time before the Olympics is sufficient though, we will do everything we can to bring her back into good form. Only if there is the slightest chance to recover in time to return to the team, Tanya will always cling to this chance. She’s a real fighter, this season she has had to overcome an ankle injury. The rest of the girls are all right now and are attending full training in Bangkok before the decisive matches of the Grand Prix. Being part of the optional outside hitters are Yana Shcherban and Ksenia Ilchenko.
In the Final round, our coaching staff is likely to experiment, run in new schemes with host team.”- quoted Fadeev by r-sport.
