Different coffee brands (packaged, pure unpackaged and instant) were purchased from a local market at Guelma town (east of Algeria) and used in this study, six samples of each brand was analyzed. Seven brands of packaged milled coffee, three instant coffees and a decaffeinated instant coffee were analyzed. Three samples of roasted unpackaged and two samples of green unroasted coffee beans were manually ground and used for analysis. These coffee samples are mainly composed of pure Robusta and Arabica or blends of both of them.
