students enjoyed chatting. watching TV. and eating in the lounge There's a kitchen next to the lounge for students to cook. The kitchen was also fine before and usually pretty clean. But now, unfortunately, both the lounge and kitchen are a real mess. Fifty students share these facilities Unfortunately, some people have been leaving their dirty dishes and food out in the kitchen The attracts insects, and the kitchen smells terrible. In the other part of the lounge, people regularly leave papers, garbage, and clothing out everywhere. And it's not just in the lounge and kitchen other messy areas in Davis Hall include the stairways and the halls. People have been dumping garbage there. They have also been leaving out items like bicycles, in-line skates, and boxes. This is exceedingly dangerous because people might trip over them
I have thought of three solutions to this problem. The first involves a cleaning schedule. week, the people on one floor of the building clean these common spaces. Alternatively, the people on each floor of the building are responsible for one common area. The floor residents throw out anything that is out at the end of the week. Another solution is to set up video cameras. People who make a mess will be caught on camera. They will then have to pay a fine. For example, for every dirty dish they leave in the sink. they pay one dollar But the best solution, in my opinion, is to encourage everyone to frankly, use common sense and clean up after themselves. If we all spent just a few minutes to clean up after we've used the facilities, we'd all benefit. Ideally, a residential community is like a home, even if it's temporary Let's work together to make Davis Hall a place we're all proud to call home.
