Training your abs is important not only for aesthetic purposes, but because a strong core will help you be more powerful and will keep your back healthy. Although abdominal exercises are not included in this programme, it is part of the training program. You will be using a lot of your abdominal muscles to perform the majority of the exercises, I haven’t included too many extra ab exercises in phase 1 of your programme in fear that you ab muscles will get over worked and essentially could injure yourself when trying to perform some of the other exercises. Phase 2 we will be able to add in some more ab work as your abs will be more accustomed to being used by this time.
