Starter activity: 10 minutes
Watching Twig films about earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand and Nepal (in YouTube). Students will be given the situation about the need of government to hire a company who can invent the strongest earthquake-resistant building with the lowest budget in order to solve this problem.
Main activity: 30 minutes
Students in each team do their mission by inventing an earthquake-resistant building with the materials given (The cost of materials varies) They have to develop and reinvent their building until they get the best building, then, test the efficiency of the building.
Elaboration activity: 5 minutes
Students will be asked to act as entrepreneurs in order to use
Entrepreneurial skills to enhance workplace productivity and career options. Documents about entrepreneurship will be provided, if needed. Students will be allowed to search for more entrepreneurial knowledge from the internet. (In fact, this step takes time!)
Students in each group share what they learn and plan to do as entrepreneurs by doing an oral presentation or writing.
Conclusion activity: 5 minutes
. Students can share their viewpoints and assess their peer’s presentation or writing. Teacher also can share and facilitate the conclusion in order to meet the objectives of this activity.
