4. Conclusions
The silviculture of transformation Ð like the structures we are trying to create Ð can be highly variable. It uses a vast array of treatments that can be organized in any number of ways to achieve many different objectives. Foresters should not feel compelled to transform all plantations to one particular structure or to use one silvicultural system for all transformations. Variability should be as much a part of our practice as it is our purpose.
