Every local applicant must:
Hold a M.6 certificate or its equivalent issued by the Ministry of Education, or equivalent certificates from local or overseas educational institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education
Not suffer from a communicable disease or mental disorder
Have a clear and good record of conduct.
All candidates are required to pass the written entrance examination in English and Mathematical aptitude. Those who have a SAT score of at least 1000 (Critical Reading and Mathematics) or a TOEFL score of at least 61 (internet based test score) are eligible for admission without taking the written examination.
Overseas Students
To be eligible for admission, overseas students must submit a high school certificate, an original copy of the official transcript and the English proficiency test score. Applicants must complete an online application form and mail their educational credentials to BU International, which acts as the first screening body in the selection process. Overseas students must enter Thailand on a non-immigrant visa.
Special Students
Students who would like to take some selected courses and receive the credits, but are not seeking a degree at Bangkok University, are categorized as special (visiting) students. Students who register for a course for which no credit will be received are considered auditing students. Overseas students interested in these types of studies can contact BU International.
Transfer Students
Transfer students seeking admission to Bangkok University must have obtained a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or above from previously attended accredited institutions. The grades earned from the previous institutions are valid for only 5 years. The grade received for each course eligible for transfer cannot be lower than “C” or its equivalent.
The transcript, course descriptions and one letter of recommendation from a former instructor must be submitted for the purpose of the credit transfer.
Student Support Services
BU International provides a wide range of support services for both overseas and Thai students enrolling in the programs. Services include counseling, tutoring advice, and information regarding visa renewal, admission, housing, financial aid and scholarships. BU International also works closely with international visitors, other universities, community offices and agencies.
