Hamburg Süd will relieve its customers of responsibility for the entire logistics chain if desired. Beyond pure transport from seaport to seaport, this array of services also includes so-called intermodal services, which connect inland centres by road, rail and inland waterway. These services are by no means a standard product, but, in consultation with the customer, are attuned to individual needs and to the corresponding geographical or statutory conditions where applicable. In the process, we integrate customer-specific specifications, such as the availability of a dedicated rail connection or the inclusion of a favoured inland terminal, into a coherent transport concept. Even plant-specific features – the clearance heights of gateways, say – are taken into account when it comes to reliably implementing our customers’ wishes.
