Another possible limitation could be that participants were not screened on anxiety, depression or other clinical conditions, which seem to be some of the factors that play a role when estimating interoception [7]. However, the aim of the present study was to investigate possible links between interoceptive sensitivity and SPSs in a sample that could be representative of the general population while avoiding to produce selection bias. The role of specific individual factors on the perception of SPSs should be targeted in a future study designed to investigate their respective roles.
