we analysed the gene expression of SlACS2, SlACS4, and
SlACO1, which are responsible for autocatalytic ethylene
production during fruit ripening (Klee and Giovannoni,
2011). Compared with CK, SlACS4 was up-regulated 3-fold
in M50, whereas SlACS2 and SlACO1 showed no significant
changes in response to melatonin treatment (Fig. 5B). These
results revealed that melatonin might increase ethylene production
by enhancing SlACS4 expression.
